Photography Workshop with Genevra Kornbluth
On 30-31 May, art historian and art photographer Dr. Genevra Kornbluth will host a two-day photography workshop in collaboration with the Department of Art History, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Smart Museum. Taking good pictures of objects often poses a challenge, especially so in museums and galleries: who does not frequently struggle with the reflective glass of vitrines, high-powered spot lights, or the physical properties (surface, size, shape) of the artifacts themselves? With the needs of art historians in mind, the workshop will teach skills and knowledge to achieve high-quality images. Day one will cover topics such as photographic technique and digital post-production (Photoshop), while on the second day participants will have the chance to practice and develop their new skills.
Participation is limited to 15. Please email LaShaya Howie for more information.
