May Peterson


May Peterson is a PhD student studying the art and literature of Late Antique Europe. Her research interests include the interface between text and image, medieval ideas of materiality, and sacred space, broadly construed. May earned a BA in Classics from Stanford University with honors and distinction in 2017. Her honors thesis entitled “Venantius Fortunatus as Auctor of the Sacred: From Material to Ethereal in Sixth-Century Gaul” won a Robert M. Golden Medal for Excellence in Humanities.
